Pakistan Down Syndrome Association (PDSA) Receives Official Registration under Sindh Persons with Disabilities Protection Authority

Karachi: The Pakistan Down Syndrome Association (PDSA) is proud to announce its official registration under the Sindh Persons with Disabilities Protection Authority. This significant milestone marks a new chapter in PDSA’s ongoing efforts to support and advocate for individuals with Down syndrome in Pakistan.

The registration certificate was formally presented by Mr. G. Mohiuddin Asim Siddiqui, Additional Secretary of the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPD). The ceremony took place in Karachi, with Mr. Abid Lashari, CEO of PDSA, accepted the certificate on behalf of the organization.


“We are honored to receive this registration, which validates our commitment to empowering individuals with Down syndrome and ensuring their rights and inclusion in society,” said Mr. Abid Lashari. “This recognition will enable us to enhance our efforts and work more closely with governmental bodies to advocate for necessary policies and support systems.” Mr. Lashari added.


The Sindh Persons with Disabilities Protection Authority plays a crucial role in protecting and promoting the rights of persons with disabilities in the region. PDSA’s registration under this authority reinforces its dedication to providing comprehensive support, education, and advocacy for individuals with Down syndrome and their families.

Mr. Lashari further said about Pakistan Down Syndrome Association (PDSA) that PDSA Pakistan is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with Down syndrome through advocacy, rehabilitation, education, and the support.

PDSA works tirelessly to promote acceptance and inclusion for people with Down syndrome in all areas of life. PDSA is a country representative member of Down Syndrome International (Dsi) a UK Charity and country representative member of Asia Pacific Down Syndrome Federation (APDSF).

PDSA is a partner organization of Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPD) Government of Sindh, under the collaboration running 02 Rehabilitation Centers for children with intellectual disabilities especially children with Down Syndrome in Gulistan e Johar and Gulshan e Hadid Karachi.
