Karachi: In commemoration of World Physiotherapy Day (08th September ) the Pakistan Down Syndrome Association (PDSA) in collaboration with the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPD), Government of Sindh, organized a significant awareness session at their Gulistan-e-Johar center in Karachi. The event highlighted the importance of physiotherapy, particularly in the lives of individuals with Down syndrome and other disabilities.
Mr. Abid Lashari, the Chief Guest, delivered a keynote address emphasizing the life-saving role of physiotherapy. “Physiotherapy is often the only hope for many, especially those recovering from a stroke. It can truly make the difference between life and death,” stated Mr. Lashari.
The session also featured talks from prominent speakers, including Dr. Dua Nizamani, Mr. Farooq Ahmed, Mr. Sheeraz Saleem, Ms. Neelam Tanveer, Ms. Rashida Rajpoot, Dr. Mehwish, Dr. Arshma Siddiqui, Dr. Irum, Dr. Kubra and Dr. Uzma Bano, who all shed light on the critical role physiotherapy plays in rehabilitation and enhancing the quality of life for individuals with disabilities.
Parents of children benefiting from PDSA’s rehabilitation services expressed their heartfelt appreciation for the organization’s ongoing efforts to provide free physiotherapy services in Karachi.
